“Grip it and Rip it”

2 Athletes will compete:
8 Min AMRAP

8 Hang Clean and Jerks (95/65)

8 Toes to Bar

Note: If an athlete competed in the Week 1 video submission, they are NOT ELIGIBLE TO COMETE IN THE SECOND ONLINE WORKOUT.

Both athletes will complete this workout separately as written. If one athlete finishes a movement prior to the other, they do NOT have to wait for the other athlete to finish a set prior to continuing work on the next movement. Even though the workouts are “independent”, both athletes must complete the workout in the same video submission.

Set-up: two barbells loaded appropriately to the workout weight should be set up prior to the start of the workout. Prior to starting, film the plates and barbells being used so the loads can be seen clearly. State your team name as well as any athletes participating in the online event. All video submissions should be uncut and unedited in order to accurately display the performance. A clock or timer with the running workout time clearly visible should be in the frame throughout the entire workout. Shoot the video from an angle so all exercises and athletes can be clearly seen meeting the movement standards.

On 3, 2, 1, Go. Both athletes will deadlift their respective barbells to full extension, once the hang is established the first 8 hang clean and jerks may be performed. If the bar is dropped at any point, the hang must be re-established before continuing. Once all 8 hang clean and jerks are complete, the athlete will advance to the rig to perform 8 toes to bar. Upon completion of a full round, the athlete will move back to the barbell and continue with hang clean and jerks. This pattern will continue until 8 minutes has elapsed. Both athletes must complete the workout in a single video, two separate video submissions will not be allowed.

Hang Clean and Jerk – The load must start in a hang. If taken from the floor, the barbell must first be deadlifted to full extension before returning to the hang to start the first rep. The barbell must clearly pass through the front rack position prior to starting the jerk. Any style of clean or jerk are allowed as long as the barbell starts from the hang, passes through the front rack position, and the barbell finishes over head with the knees, hips, and elbows fully extended with the barbell over the center of the athlete’s body with feet together.

Toes to Bar – The athlete must go from a full hang to having the toes touch the pull-up bar. At the start of each rep the arms must be fully extended and the feet must be brought back behind the bar and behind the body. Both feet must come into contact with the bar at the same time, inside the hands to finish the rep.
